Several WWE stars both past and present have expressed an interest in wrestling John Cena during the 16-time world champion's 2025 retirement tour.

The man who famously wrestled Big Match John in Cena's televised SmackDown debut, however, has not joined them.

Speaking with The Takedown on SI, Kurt Angle noted that he is in no condition to be getting into the ring with anyone, saying:

"A lot of people ask me if I'm gonna wrestle Cena for his retirement tour [laughs]. No, no, listen, my body, I have knee replacements, I had five neck surgeries, I had my back surgery last year. I have to have shoulder replacements. I am in no condition to be getting in the ring and wrestling. Don't get me wrong, I do some stuff. I don't think I can get in the ring. I can probably get in the ring and wrestle, but I don't want to take the chance of getting injured".

After wrestling (and beating) Cena in his WWE debut, Angle would intermittently feud with The Doctor of Thuganomics before exiting the company in 2006. When the Olympic Hero returned in 2017, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Cena.

Angle's last match was a loss to Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35. The 55-year-old recently expressed his disappointment that WWE didn't do more to push Corbin following the bout.

Angle also recently provided further details about a film biopic on his life that is currently in the works.
