Kurt Angle 'Talked About' Match With Seth Rollins In WWE

Angle vs. The Architect was almost a reality

During his brief in-ring comeback to WWE, Kurt Angle rubbed shoulders with Seth Rollins when joining the SHIELD as an honorary member, but the two never fought a singles match. But according to Angle, a match between the two was discussed.

The revelation came on The Kurt Angle Show podcast on adfreeshows.com, when Angle was talking about ten wrestlers he never faced, saying the following about Rollins:

“Well, I think he is one of the best wrestlers in the world today, and he reminds me, not quite there yet, but he reminds me of a young Shawn Michaels, and I think that's the reason why I love the kid and why I want to wrestle him.”

Angle’s history of injury and addiction may have conspired against him and this match occurring:

"Yeah, we discussed it, but it never came to fruition,” continued Angle “You know, there are a lot of people I talked to that I wanted to wrestle with. It never came to fruition either, so, you know, I don't think WWE had a lot of plans for me to wrestle big names, and I get it. I'm sure there are liability reasons, you know, with my painkiller addiction problems I had in the past and my injuries, and so they pretty much protected me when I came back, and I didn't do a lot of wrestling."
