Kyle O'Reilly Vs. Adam Cole Set For WWE NXT The Great American Bash
A rematch from NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver
Jun 16, 2021
Kyle O'Reilly and Adam Cole will continue their heated rivalry in a straight-up wrestling match at WWE NXT's The Great American Bash.
The two former Undisputed Era members were shown trying to attack each other backstage, with security trying to separate the duo, forcing NXT general manager William Regal and new assistant Samoa Joe to intervene.
Regal would make the match between Cole and O'Reilly, saying the two would meet in a 'straight-up wrestling match' at The Great American Bash, set to be aired on Tuesday 6 July.
The former best friends absolutely decimated each other in a barbaric Unsanctioned Match at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver in April. O'Reilly would get the win in the main event of Night Two, but the tensions still exist between the two.
Cole and O'Reilly were both involved in Sunday's Fatal-Five Way for the NXT Championship, with O'Reilly locking his former leader in a Heel Hook towards the end of the bout. His refusal to release the hold may have caused the eventual result, with Karrion Kross locking in the Kross Jacket on O'Reilly to retain his Title.
