LA Knight Revealed To Be The Wrestler Drew McIntyre & More Were Unhappy With At WWE Royal Rumble

LA Knight was ultimately the reason why Drew McIntyre and others were unhappy in the Men's Royal Rumble.

It emerged shortly after the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on Saturday night that Drew McIntyre stormed out of Lucas Oil Stadium and he was "screaming and cursing" backstage that "someone had to get their moves in" at the expense of other stories in the match, including McIntyre's own elimination from the Men's Rumble. Reports then noted that "a lot of people", including McIntyre, were unhappy with a wrestler "trying to get himself over and not the match over" in the Men's Rumble.

Fightful Select and PWInsider have since reported it has been indicated to them that LA Knight was the reason for the frustration from several talents. Both outlets reported that McIntyre's elimination by Damian Priest was originally scheduled to take place before Logan Paul entered the Rumble at number 30.

PWInsider added that several sequences with LA Knight, including one with Roman Reigns, went far longer than planned or expected and a member of WWE production noted everyone "probably needed a minute" to get back on track.

McIntyre's elimination was further delayed by Logan Paul's entrance at number 30 and LA Knight ended up knocking into Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest during his planned interaction with Paul. This led to McIntyre's elimination being clunky and appearing to come out of nowhere.

McIntyre being eliminated by Priest after Drew tried to throw out Jey Uso was the planned spot. This was done to lead into a potential WrestleMania 41 programme between the former World Heavyweight champions.
