Report: The Rock Was Mad That Him Not Wrestling At WrestleMania 41 Leaked
The Rock wasn't happy about his lack of WrestleMania 41 plans becoming news
Feb 4, 2025
The Rock was reportedly "mad" after it was reported in late 2024 that he wouldn't be wrestling at WrestleMania 41.
Dave Meltzer detailed The Rock's status for WrestleMania 41 on Wrestling Observer Radio, noting that Dwayne Johnson and his agent Brad Slater told WWE at some point before October's Bad Blood pay-per-view that The Rock wouldn't be able to wrestle at WrestleMania.
Meltzer initially reported following Bad Blood that The Rock had told WWE he wouldn't be able to work WrestleMania, something Johnson addressed, saying on Instagram: "Don’t believe any of that bull****."
Reports in early December, however, only further confirmed that The Rock was not planned for WrestleMania 41, reports which upset Dwayne Johnson, according to Meltzer.
"It would have been November, December when everybody started reporting it and I kind of heard, 'Oh my God, Dwayne's mad that everybody's reporting it. He doesn't want this out.' And one person said, 'I bet he does the show now because he's so mad that's everyone’s reporting it.' I mean, if he's too busy and he's got other projects he's not going to be able to do it. My gut on him is if he didn't have other projects, he'd do it. The guy loves pro wrestling," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.
The Rock did appear on the January 6, 2025 episode of WWE Raw, quashing his feud with Cody Rhodes and crowning Roman Reigns as the Tribal Chief. Original plans called for The Rock to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41.
Although it hasn't been completely ruled out, Meltzer noted it is very unlikely that The Rock will be wrestling at WrestleMania 41. Meltzer expects Dwayne Johnson to make an appearance at the show, although this was just Meltzer's opinion.
