LA Knight Told WWE To Fire Him If He Didn't Get Over Within 3 Months Of Return

LA Knight talks about giving WWE a surprising ultimatum.

In a recent interview with Dave LaGreca of Busted Open Radio, WWE Superstar LA Knight claimed to have given WWE management a shocking ultimatum upon his initial return to the company in 2021. Knight explained:

"When I first came back in 2021, I said, ‘Look, here’s the deal,’ I said, ‘If you feel like I’m not getting over after three months, get me out of there.’ That’s how confident I was that just in a short amount of time."

Knight's initial WWE run came in the then-developmental NXT brand from 2013 to 2014. He went on to enjoy success in IMPACT Wrestling as Eli Drake, becoming IMPACT World Champion, Tag Team Champion, and King of the Mountain Champion during his time there.

Knight re-signed with WWE in 2021, moving from NXT to the main roster in 2022. He was initially presented as manager of the Maximum Male Models stable, under the new name Max Dupri, before reverting to the LA Knight persona and returning to in-ring action.

His popularity with audiences has since hugely increased, and he recently won the Slim Jim Battle Royal at SummerSlam.
