WWE's monthly pay-per-views may prove to be a tricky obstacle for All Elite Wrestling's Collision series.
Collision went head-to-head with a WWE pay-per-view for the first time on Saturday, August 5, going up against SummerSlam, and Collision suffered a significant drop in the ratings. According to Wrestlenomics, Collision averaged 417,000 viewers and a 0.13 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, estimated to be 164,000.
Compared to the prior week, Collision was down 44 percent in total viewership from 739,000 and down 54 percent in the 18-49 demo from a 0.27 rating.
The August 5 show was AEW Collision's lowest ratings so far. The previous low came on July 1, which averaged 452,000 total viewers and 172,000 viewers in the 18-49 demo. The July 1 show took place on the same day as WWE Money in the Bank but the events did not go head-to-head due to MITB airing in the United Kingdom and having an earlier start time as a result.
AEW Collision on August 5 featured multiple title matches, including CM Punk vs. FTR for the Real AEW World Championship with Ricky Steamboat as a special guest enforcer.
