WWE star LA Knight has been written off television following an angle on the June 20 edition of SmackDown.

Knight wrestled Bronson Reed in a match on the show, which he won via disqualification. After the match, however, Knight was beaten down by both Reed and Bron Breakker, which included being hit with multiple Tsunami splashes.

On last night's (June 23) episode of Raw, commentator Michael Cole noted that Knight is suffering with separated rib cartilage and a bruised sternum. He did not provide a timetable for his return.

LA Knight's future has been the subject of speculation of late, with a report suggesting there was a push within WWE to move the former United States Champion from SmackDown to Raw.

However, an update said that despite being able to appear on both brands, there is currently no plan for Knight to permanently switch.

On a recent edition of his Kliq This podcast, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash endorsed Knight for a run with a world title, saying:

"I'll tell you what. We gave him a lot of sh*t early in this show, that he was a copycat and everything else, and I really appreciate him. He's a f*cking solid hand. The people like him. He would definitely be on my list of guys to give a run to, to give a world run to. The only problem is, he's a babyface… his work's always been solid… I was just gonna say also, that f*cker stays in f*cking really good shape".
