Latest On Top Prospect Potentially Signing With WWE Or AEW

A top prospect may not be signing with either WWE or AEW

One of the top prospects in professional wrestling may not be signing with either WWE or All Elite Wrestling even though they are set to become a free agent.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer recently reported that Mariah May will finish up with Stardom on Saturday, September 30 at the Five Star Grand Prix finals. May might not be completely done with Stardom, though, as Meltzer noted in an update on Wrestling Observer Radio that the 25-year-old has told Stardom she isn't signing with AEW or WWE and the door is open for her to go back to Japan.

"She is leaving. She's going back to England. She may come back, it's not like for sure she's not coming back. She told the company that she's not going to WWE or AEW. The door is open for her to come back if she wants to. That's the status. I think a lot of people thought she was going to AEW for sure and she may be, but it doesn't appear to be for sure because she left the door open with Stardom," Meltzer said.

May made her debut for Stardom in January 2023. She is a former Goddess of Stardom Champion with Mina Shirakawa. Reports have indicated that AEW have discussed bringing in Mariah May and Tony Khan's promotion was considered her likely landing spot
