Lio Rush & YOH Win NJPW Super Jr. Tag League 2022

Lio Rush and YOH have won NJPW Super Jr. Tag League!

Following a three-week tournament, Lio Rush and YOH have won the 2022 Super Jr. Tag League, defeating Bullet Club's Chris Bey and Ace Austin in the final today.

Bullet Club thought they had the match won down the stretch but they ended up covering Lio Rush when YOH was the legal man. The babyfaces then capitalised, hitting their ABC to 1-2-3 tag team finisher on Ace Austin but Chris Bey pulled referee Red Shoes Uno out of the ring before he could count to three.

Lio Rush answered with a Suicide Dive to Bey and YOH followed up with the Direct Drive to Ace Austin for the victory.

After spending much of 2022 out of action with an injury, Lio Rush has performed on the indies since October before he formed a team with YOH for Super Jr. Tag League. Today was his Super Jr. Tag League win. YOH, meanwhile, is now a four-time winner, having previously emerged victorious in the tournament in 2017, 2018, and 2019 as one-half of Roppongi 3K with SHO.
