Lio Rush Pulled From GCW Show Due To Injury

Lio Rush is out with an injury

Lio Rush may be set for a stint on the sidelines.

The former WWE star was scheduled to be in action at Game Changer Wrestling's 'My Name' show on August 4 against "Speedball" Mike Bailey but GCW announced that Rush would not be able to compete due to injury. Bailey is scheduled to challenge Blake Christian for the GCW World Championship instead.

Rush has yet to publicly comment on the injury. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted The Man of the Hour was a part of the MCW Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup XXII on July 22 and he picked up a win over Myles Hawkins on the show. Rush injured his shoulder in the match, though, and was taken to hospital shortly after. The 28-year-old has a history of shoulder issues that almost forced him to retire.

Rush's injury comes only a couple of weeks after he captured the IMPACT X-Division Championship, defeating Chris Sabin at Slammiversary. IMPACT have yet to comment on if Rush will continue as champion.
