Lio Rush Replaced In PWG Battle Of Los Angeles 2023

Lio Rush is out of the PWG Battle of Los Angeles

NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 was an eventful night for Lio Rush, with Rush busted open hardway during his IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Title bout against The United Empire.

Rush revealed that he hadn’t broken any facial bones during the bout, but he will be sidelined for a few weeks and as a result will have to miss the PWG Battle of Los Angeles 2023 tournament. Rush did sustain a broken nose in the match.

PWG later tweeted, confirming that Rush is indeed out, before announcing that Bryan Keith will replace him in the tournament, making his PWG debut at the show.

This is another case of bad luck for Rush and the BoLA, with the ‘Man of the Hour’ having suffered an injury during the 2022 tournament in a match with Buddy Matthews.

Updated PWG BoLA 2023 card - Night One, January 7:

  • Bandido vs. Black Taurus vs. El Hijo del Vikingo
  • Titus Alexander vs. Daniel Garcia
  • Michael Oku vs. Konosuke Takeshita
  • Jordynne Grace vs. Jonathan Gresham
  • Aramis vs. Shun Skywalker
  • Alex Shelley vs. Masha Slamovich
  • SB KENTo vs. Bryan Keith
  • Latigo vs. Komander
