Report: Currently No Date For Kenny Omega Vs. Will Ospreay Rematch

No date yet for a Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay rematch

While Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay looks set to be a multi-match series, there is currently no date planned for a rematch, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Omega and Ospreay faced off in the co-main event of Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4. The bout is an early match-of-the-year contender and was awarded 6 1/4 stars by Meltzer. Omega ultimately came out on top in their first match since 2015, picking up the win to capture the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship following a Kamigoye and One Winged Angel.

Despite the lack of a date, a rematch between Ospreay and Omega is expected to take place and it was noted that both men held back in their first clash as they wanted to save moves for future bouts. Omega still hit a Croyt's Wrath and a Top Rope DDT onto the exposed turnbuckle at Wrestle Kingdom, though.

Following the Tokyo Dome show, Will Ospreay looks set to feud with Taichi in NJPW, while Kenny Omega will return to All Elite Wrestling. The Best Bout Machine is set to team with The Young Bucks against Death Triangle in a Ladder Match in the final match of their Best of Seven Series for the AEW World Trios Titles.
