Lyra Valkyria Reacts To WWE King And Queen Of The Ring Loss
Lyra Valkyria on her loss at WWE King and Queen of the Ring
May 27, 2024
Lyra Valkyria was featured in a high-profile match at WWE King and Queen of the Ring on Saturday, ultimately coming up short in the Queen of the Ring final against Nia Jax. Valkyria was largely dominated by Jax during the match and her brief flurry of offence was ended after Jax hit her Annihilator Banzai Drop finisher.
Valkyria reacted to her loss in a WWE Digital Exclusive, saying:
"It was all right there. I felt so good, felt so confident, and obviously now, not only did I lose the chance to be Queen of the Ring, the chance to go to SummerSlam, I feel like I've been hit by a truck. I would say that success is going from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm, but right now, it's a hard one to stand up after."
Following encouragement from Kayla Braxton, Valkyria added:
"You're so right. Who comes to Monday Night Raw and gets this far in their first month? I know now I belong in that spot. I know now I can hang with the very best. This is just the start of Lyra Valkyria's journey. I'll get back to where I was, and next time I get a shot, I'll make sure I come out on top."
Valkyria was only called up to the main roster as part of April's WWE Draft. She reached the final of Queen of the Ring following victories over Dakota Kai, Zoey Stark, and IYO SKY to win the Raw bracket.
With Valkyria losing in Saudi Arabia, though, Nia Jax will move on to challenge for the WWE Women's Championship at SummerSlam.
