Madcap Moss Undergoes WWE Name Change
What's old is new again for Madcap Moss in WWE following a name change
Apr 28, 2023
A certain WWE talent is no longer marked by capriciousness, recklessness, or foolishness.
WWE have decided to change Madcap Moss' in-ring name and the company have got rid of 'Madcap' and changed his name back to 'Riddick Moss.' The name change has been confirmed on WWE.com. PWInsider Elite reported that Moss will be off TV for the moment in part because WWE feel his absence will give the audience time to forget he was called Madcap Moss.
The 33-year-old received the 'Madcap Moss' name upon his return from a torn ACL in September 2021 after aligning with Happy Corbin. The name was used as part of a more comedic persona and Moss received somewhat of a push under the Vince McMahon regime in 2022, having matches with Drew McIntyre, winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and emerging victorious from a feud with Happy Corbin.
Moss hasn't been a featured performer since Triple H became WWE Chief Content Officer in the summer of 2022 outside of an Intercontinental Title match with GUNTHER earlier this year, but Moss' fortunes could change now that Vince McMahon is back in charge of WWE creative.
Moss has been a part of WWE since 2014. He previously played American football for the University of Minnesota between 2008 and 2012.
