Major WWE NXT Plans For Debut On The CW Revealed

Big WWE NXT plans for debut episode on The CW

WWE have major plans for the debut episode of NXT on The CW.

WWE NXT will move to The CW later this year, with the premiere episode on the network set to air on Tuesday, October 1 at 8 pm ET. PWInsider has reported that early plans for the episode will see NXT air outside of the WWE Performance Center.

WWE and The CW plan to make the debut episode on the network a major event, with it being compared to early editions of NXT TakeOver in regards to its importance for NXT, and WWE want to make a good impression as the partnership with The CW grows.

Several locations have been discussed for the debut episode on The CW and Chicago appears to be the frontrunner. The Second City is the home of one of the headquarters of Nexstar Media Group, the company that owns The CW.

WWE NXT has been taped from a permanent location since it moved away from the game-show format and became a fully-fledged WWE brand in 2012. The series was initially taped at Full Sail University before moving to the WWE Performance Center in 2020.

WWE NXT will head to The CW as part of a five-year deal that is reportedly a 70 per cent increase on the brand's current arrangement with USA Network, which is worth $15 million per year.
