Maki Itoh Returning To Japan Following Latest AEW Run

A very short AEW stint for Maki Itoh

Maki Itoh's latest run in All Elite Wrestling is over after just one match and the popular Joshi star is heading back to Japan.

Itoh wrote on Twitter: "I'm going back to Japan. My experience in the US was invaluable! I was prepared to die when I lost my phone and credit cards. But I made a lot of friends. I met a lot of fans that I couldn't see. It was really fun. Thank you f**k you all."

Itoh was revealed to be the Joker in the Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament and she went on to lose an opening-round contest against Britt Baker. The International Princess Champion also defended her title on the independent wrestling scene against Mia Yim for Prestige Wrestling on May 28 before a loss to Miyu Yamashita the next day.

The Japanese star made her first AEW appearance in the United States on the Revolution 2021 Buy In and she competed in two more matches three days later before heading back to Japan.

Yuka Sakazaki's latest AEW stint is also over and the Magical Sugar Rabbits member announced she would be travelling back to Japan. Sakazaki lost an Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament qualifier to Riho in early May and she has performed three more times on Dark and Dark: Elevation over the past month.
