Malakai Black Set For First AEW Singles Match In Over A Year

Malakai Black is finally back in singles action in AEW

It has become somewhat of a running joke online when it comes to Malakai Black’s career as a singles competitor, with him not competing in an AEW singles match since way back in June 2022 when he defeated Penta Obscuro on AEW Dynamite to earn a shot at the AEW International (then All-Atlantic) Championship.

There has been some debate about why exactly he hasn’t competed in any singles matches, with him refuting claims that he refuses to take pinfall losses earlier this month. Finally though, Black is set for singles action in AEW for the first time in over a year.

It was revealed yesterday on X that Black would be taking on “Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith on AEW Collision later tonight in Springfield, Missouri.

Despite not competing in singles action, Black has been involved in feuds recently with the likes of FTR, Daniel Garcia, Blackpool Combat Club, and Mark Briscoe, a part of the House Of Black faction. It remains to be seen if this will mark the return to singles competition for Black, or if it is simply a one off.
