Malakai Black Thought He Would Have To Retire Due To Back Injury

A serious issue for Malakai Black

Malakai Black's time in All Elite Wrestling almost had to be cut short, the House of Black leader has revealed on TikTok

Speaking on the platform while lifting weights, Black noted that he was dealing with a back injury until three months ago that the former NXT Champion thought would force him to retire.

"Till about 3 months ago I was dealing with a back injury I was convinced was going to force me into retirement, but after a literal year of treatment that went from working to complete failure on several occasions we all of a sudden hit the correct vertebrae during a dry needling session and everything released. From there we were able to rehab and strengthen. You can check video 2 for this horrendous view and my personal reaction to it. However, allowing me now a few months later to slowly move back into deadlifting and a few more compound moves," Black wrote.

Black has been a part of All Elite Wrestling since July of 2021. He has since formed the House of Black and added Brody King, Buddy Matthews, and Julia Hart to the stable.
