Mandy Rose would finally capture gold in WWE in 2021, winning the NXT Women's Championship. The former Toxic Attraction leader was originally supposed to capture her first title in WWE years earlier, however.

Former WWE writer Dave Schilling revealed during a watch-along of WrestleMania 35 that Rose was originally scheduled to win the SmackDown Women's Championship at the show.

"The SmackDown women's title was supposed to be won by Mandy Rose at this WrestleMania. Instead, we got this famous main event. At no point did Nia Jax figure into this title match. Nor did I ever see her again after this night. Hope she's doing well," Schilling tweeted.

The 'famous main event' in question was the Triple Threat between Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch for the SmackDown and Raw women's titles. Lynch would pin Rousey in the main event to become Becky Two-Belts. Rose was still involved at Mania, taking part in the Women's Battle Royal.

Rose's scrapped WrestleMania 35 win would have likely been over Asuka. The two women had been feuding since February and their series was at one win apiece heading into the Show of Shows. Asuka instead lost the SmackDown Women's Championship to Charlotte Flair on March 26, 2019.

Rose is no longer with WWE, having been released by the company in December 2022. Her pro-wrestling future remains uncertain.
