Matt Cardona Defeats Nick Gage For GCW Title At Homecoming

Cardona won an absolute bloodbath

Matt Cardona (formerly Zack Ryder) defeated Game Changer Wrestling champion Nick Gage in a death match on Saturday night in Atlantic City, in the main event of night one of the promotion's Homecoming event.

Late in the bloody title bout, Rickey Shane Page hit the ring to help Gage fight off several interfering wrestlers. After doing so, RSP turned on Gage, kicking him low. This enabled Cardona to smash clusters of light tubes over Gage's head, before finishing him with Radio Silence.

After the match, fans pelted Cardona with trash. He held the title aloft before quickly getting out of the ring.

Gage's second reign as GCW champion ended at 106 days. He had won the title from Page in Ybor City, FL on April 9.

As it stands, Gage is slated to wrestle Chris Jericho in a No Rules match on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite in Charlotte, as part of MJF's "Labors of Jericho".

Other title changes from the night include BJW Death Match champion Drew Parker defeating GCW Ultraviolent champion Alex Colon in a title for title match, and Mance Warner and Matthew Justice winning the GCW Tag Team titles from G-Raver and Jimmy Lloyd.
