Report: CM Punk "100 Percent" For AEW's Chicago Slate

AEW has three Chi-Town events leading off September

Amid various rumors regarding CM Punk's reported ties to All Elite Wrestling and an in-ring return, Cassidy Haynes of bodyslam.net is claiming that Punk is "100 percent" going to be there for AEW's Chicago run that leads off the month of September.

Speaking on his podcast, Haynes said, "I was told ... he was 100 percent for Chicago. They want CM Punk to be in Chicago. He's 100 percent going to be there. And it's not a matter of if, it's when."

AEW is running three events at Chicago's NOW Arena the first week of September: Dynamite on September 1, Rampage on September 3, and the All Out pay-per-view on September 5.

Haynes was also the individual who broke the Wednesday evening report of Bryan Danielson apparently signing with AEW.

Though not confirmed by AEW themselves, the sentiment seems to be that AEW has signed one of, if not both, individuals. A note in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that higher-ups in WWE are under the belief that AEW has indeed signed Punk.
