Matt Cardona has trademarked 'Zack Ryder'

Woo Woo Woo! Matt Cardona knows it. 

Only three days after WWE's trademark of 'Zack Ryder' lapsed, Matt Cardona trademarked the name on January 14 for merchandise and professional wrestling purposes.

The full filing is as follows: 

"IC 025. US 022 039. G & S: Bandanas; Hats; Shirts; Socks; Shirts and short-sleeved shirts; Sweatshirts; Hooded sweatshirts

"IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Organization, arranging and conducting of sumo wrestling competitions; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality in the field of professional wrestling, sports entertainment, and toys and collectibles for entertainment purposes."

Cardona performed as Zack Ryder in WWE from 2007 until his release in April 2020. He enjoyed reigns with the United States, Intercontinental, and tag team titles during his stint with the company, although many fans felt he did not reach his potential due to WWE's booking. 

Cardona has used his real name since his WWE release. He is currently a top star in IMPACT Wrestling, the National Wrestling Alliance, and Game Changer Wrestling.
