Matt Cardona Wants To Face Mick Foley In His Last Match

Matt Cardona wants to be the man to face Mick Foley if he returns to the ring

Mick Foley has been talking a lot recently about getting back into ring shape and returning for one more death match to finally bow out officially on his professional wrestling career. When discussing a potential last match, Foley has highlighted top names like Jon Moxley and Matt Cardona as those who he would want to battle in that bout.

Matt Cardona responded to this when speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, claiming that he wants to be Foley’s opponent.

“It’s no secret I’ve been politicking for this match. Go back to the Hammerstein ballroom a couple years ago, I was wearing a flannel that said ‘F--- Mick Foley’. If he wants a deathmatch, it would only be fitting to have one against the deathmatch king. It would be the biggest match in the history of independent pro wrestling.”

Cardona has coined the nickname of “Death Match King” during his time on the independent scene over the last few years, so it would make all the sense in the world for Foley and Cardona to clash in this specific match type.
