Matt Hardy Hints He Will Leave WWE When Current Contract Expires

His contract expires in February 2020.

Matt Hardy's current WWE contract is set to expire in February 2020, and the member of The Hardy Boyz has shown no signs that he plans to re-sign with the company. While both parties are reportedly in discussions, according to PWInsider, the main sticking point in negotiations is over how Matt will be used, especially as Hardy believes WWE did not make the most of his Woken gimmick.

Hardy's recent social media activity also indicates he is preparing to leave the company. On Saturday, Hardy tweeted: "Know your value. If someone marginalizes you & doesn’t realize your worth, then move on to someone who understands your value. Don’t settle for anything less."

Hardy built upon his dissatisfaction after his match with Drew McIntyre on Monday's episode of Raw. Since returning on November 25th episode of Raw, the former Raw Tag Team champion has been squashed in both of his matches, losing to Buddy Murphy in 175 seconds and losing to McIntyre in 135 seconds. Following his most recent defeat, Hardy wrote: "I needed to return to @WWE to finish in the right way. I didn’t want 2010 to be my finale. I returned in the most EPIC way & repaid my debt. I waved the #WWE flag with pride & worked hard to be a model employee. My conscience is clear & I am at peace."

The former Broken One then liked a number of tweets which expressed anger about the way he is currently being booked.
