Matt Hardy Returns To TNA At Rebellion 2024

Matt Hardy back in TNA following Rebellion return

Matt Hardy is BROKEN in TNA Wrestling once again.

Hardy returned to the promotion for the third time in the closing moments of TNA's Rebellion pay-per-view on Saturday, April 20. The main event saw Moose successfully defend the TNA World Championship against Nic Nemeth but, similar to Hard To Kill, the world champion was unable to celebrate for long as the lights went out in the Palms Resort following a brief vignette.

After the lights came back on, Matt Hardy in his Broken gimmick was stood behind Moose and he proceeded to lay out the TNA World Champion to end Rebellion standing tall, leading the crowd in Delete! chants as the show went off the air.

Matt Hardy has had multiple stints in TNA already, first for a brief spell in 2011. He then had a highly successful run in the promotion from 2014 until 2017, during which he created the Broken character and became a two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion and two-time TNA World Tag Team Champion with Jeff Hardy/Brother Nero. Matt then made a very brief return to TNA in 2021 as the manager of Private Party as part of AEW's working relationship with the then-IMPACT Wrestling.

Hardy had been a part of AEW from 2020 until his contract expired in early April 2024, with Matt opting not to sign a new deal on the table from Tony Khan's promotion.
