Matt Jackson Needed Special Licence For Exploding Superkick Spot

Matt Jackson needed a licence for Double or Nothing spot

The Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW’s Double or Nothing PPV last week was a display of glorious violence, and it also featured an array of unique spots, one of which was an exploding superkick delivered by Matt Jackson. The spot wasn’t as easy as just wiring something up to his boot and pressing a button though, as there were a few hoops he had to jump through.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that the spot had been one planned for a little while, and that Matt Jackson needed to procure a license in order to be able to perform it.

“Matt Jackson came up with the exploding superkick spot about a month ago. He wanted to do something that hadn’t been done and to do so he had to get a Nevada State Fire Performers license that other entertainment acts in Las Vegas using things like that as part of the show have to get.”

Thankfully for AEW, this explosion wasn’t a dud.
