Nov 30, 2024
Ever since his WWE exit last year, Matt Riddle has found himself competing in a range of promotions around the world such as NJPW, AAA, MLW and more, and he has now finally showed up in TNA Wrestling, making his surprise debut with the company at last night’s Turning Point 2024 event in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at the Benton Convention Center.
Heading into the show, the team of Trey Miguel, Zachary Wentz, and KUSHIDA were set to take on The Hardys and Ace Austin in six-man action, but due to supposed travel issues, Miguel was unable to travel to the show. A replacement was needed, and Wentz revealed this to be none other than Matt Riddle, who had previously teamed with Wentz in NXT during his MSK days.
Riddle, Wentz and KUSHIDA were on the losing side of the match. Back in September, Riddle revealed that conflicting dates had led to him not appearing in TNA Wrestling as of yet, but didn’t close the door on signing with the promotion at some point in the future. In regards to his future in a major promotion, Riddle opened up about an interaction with Tony Khan earlier this year, which he revealed didn’t go too well.
