TNA held their 2024 Turning Point event last night, with the show hosted at the WrestleCade convention in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at the Benton Convention Center.
There were several titles on the line, notably Nic Nemeth defending the TNA World Championship against Eddie Edwards in the main event, continuing his reign which has now surpassed 129 days. Nemeth came out of the gate hot, but the tide was turned thanks to Alisha Edwards’ interference, allowing Eddie to score an advantage early on, which proved to be a trend throughout. Finally, the referee spotted her interference, dismissing her from ringside. This allowed Nemeth to hit a FameAsser for a two count. The pair traded big moves and near-falls, including a title shot by Eddie Edwards and a Boston Knee Party. During this match, Alisha emerged once again despite previously being ejected. Brian Myers emerged whilst the competitors were down, only for JBL to show up and lay him out. Nemeth followed this up with a Danger Zone to defeat Eddie Edwards.
Other notable moments from the show included Matt Riddle’s surprise debut, teaming up with Zachary Wentz and KUSHIDA as a replacement for Trey Miguel to take on The Hardys (who recently re-signed with TNA) and Ace Austin.
