Matt Sydal Out With Injury

Sydal last wrestled for AEW on February 16

Matt Sydal has revealed he is out of action, after not appearing on AEW TV since February 21.

Sydal last wrestled on AEW Dark on February 21 (taped February 16) and revealed on Twitter that he is currently out with a dislocated knee:

“Thanks for the birthday love. ------

A brief update: I dislocated my knee a few weeks back which is why I haven’t been active in AEW. In good news, there were no tears in my acl or pcl. Gonna do some meditating then BRB better than ever. ———“

Sydal last wrestled on February 19, defeating Nano Lopez at Kinguin PTW #2: BlackOut in Poland.

The 39-year-old former WWE Tag Team Champion has been with AEW since 2020, where Sydal debuted at All Out as the joker in the Casino Battle Royale. Sydal wrestled for AEW for several months until officially becoming ‘All Elite’ in November 2020, and his most recent run in the company saw him mentoring the likes of Dante Martin, Lee Moriarty, Brock Anderson, and Lee Johnson.

As of yet, there is no timetable for Sydal’s return.
