Mauro Ranallo In Talks For Pro Wrestling Return

A pro-wrestling return could be on the cards for Mauro Ranallo

Popular former NXT announcer Mauro Ranallo could potentially be in line for a return to pro wrestling, with Ranallo reported to be in talks to make a return to the sport.

Per Fightful Select, Ranallo is believed to have been in talks with Major League Wrestling, with MLW interested in bringing Ranallo in. Ranallo is familiar with MLW head Court Bauer, with the two having worked together in the past on a project for MMA company Strikeforce.

Ranallo hasn’t been involved with pro wrestling since a one-night one-match return to call the Kenny Omega vs Rich Swann main event of IMPACT Rebellion in April 2021, itself Ranallo’s first time calling pro wrestling since exiting WWE in 2020.

Formerly an English language commentator for New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Ranallo made his way to WWE in December 2015, calling SmackDown until 2017. After a hiatus from SmackDown due to mental health issues, Ranallo transferred to NXT.

Since exiting pro wrestling, Ranallo has called the action for various boxing and MMA events, having previously called events for the aforementioned Strikeforce, and legendary MMA promotion PRIDE Fighting Championships earlier in his career.
