Report: WWE Has 'Thrown In The Towel' On Vince McMahon, No One Within The Company Is Trying To Privately Defend Him

WWE has 'thrown in the towel' on Vince McMahon following Janel Grant's lawsuit

Although some within the company initially tried to defend Vince McMahon following the filing of Janel Grant's lawsuit, people in WWE have since "thrown in the towel" on the former CEO and no one is trying to defend him anymore, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.

"Most women were pretty repulsed that read it [the Vince McMahon lawsuit], including in the company. Obviously, there are people in the company who looked at that thing and the first thing they tried to do is defend him and this and that. A lot of people did not try and defend him at all within the company. I mean people who were even in the situation where they've been defending other people in the company to me, nobody bothers to try and defend Vince to me. It's almost like they've thrown in the towel on him. It's like he's gone and we can't even try to defend him," Meltzer said.

Vince McMahon was asked to resign as TKO Executive Chairman in January by Ari Emanuel and Mark Shapiro. This came after former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against McMahon accusing him of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and physical and emotional abuse. WWE and John Laurinaitis were also named as defendants in the lawsuit.

McMahon remains under federal investigation for several allegations of sexual assault stretching back to the 1980s.
