Mercedes Martinez Still Signed With AEW
Mercedes Martinez still under contract with AEW
Nov 8, 2024
It’s been over seven months since Mercedes Martinez last competed across AEW or ROH TV, but Martinez remains signed to the company.
The former ROH Women’s World Champion last wrestled on the April 27 episode of ROH TV on HonorClub, and has made a handful of appearances across the indies since, with no explanation given for her absence from TV.
In a post on Fightful Select, it’s reported that Martinez is still under contract, and is still featured on the AEW and ROH roster lists both online and internally. The report adds that Martinez hasn’t been backstage at any TV tapings as of late, but this can always change.
An important part of the women’s indy scene in the 2000s and 2010s, Martinez has been with All Elite Wrestling since 2021, wrestling mainly for Ring of Honor after Tony Khan’s purchase of ROH in early 2022. Martinez first wrestled for AEW in 2019, but made her return to WWE from 2020 to 2021 after an early stint with the company from 2017 to 2018.
In ROH, Martinez is a one time ROH Women’s World Champion, having defeated lineal champ Deonna Purrazzo at Supercard of Honor XV to unify the lineal title with her interim title.
