Mercedes Mone & AEW No Longer Have Working Plans

AEW and Mercedes Mone aren't expected to be working together

Following Mercedes Mone’s appearance at AEW All In 2023 in the crowd, it was both expected and reported that the two sides were in talks with one another, with there being potential plans in place of working together in the future.

However, it now looks as though those plans are off the table, and Mercedes Mone is looking less likely to show up in AEW. In a Q&A on Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp reported that "the once working plans for AEW and Mercedes are no longer working plans."

It was revealed recently that Mone was back in training for an in-ring return, but as of now it is unclear where she will end up signing. Mone picked up an injury earlier in 2023 during a loss to Willow Nightingale in a match to be crowned as the inaugural NJPW Strong Women’s Champion. At the time, Mone was set for feuds in NJPW/STARDOM against the likes of Guilia, though this obviously never came to fruition. Whether it be a return to Japan or a return to WWE, it looks as though Mone’s next steps won’t include AEW.
