Randy Orton Challenges Roman Reigns On WWE SmackDown

Randy Orton has his sights on Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble

The next challenger for Roman Reigns was set up on last night’s December 15 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns made his first appearance on WWE programming since the Crown Jewel premium live event last night. He opened up the show,  revealing that he sees Solo Sikoa as “next in line” to be Tribal Chief after his dominant work in recent months (much to the chagrin of Jimmy Uso).

Randy Orton emerged to confront Roman Reigns, and told the champion that he is coming for him. Orton said that after his long-term injury at the hands of The Bloodline, he will take out every member, leading all the way up to the Royal Rumble event where he is officially challenging Roman Reigns for the gold.

Reigns rejected the challenge, telling Orton to get to the back of the line. Orton nearly hit an RKO, only for Reigns to narrowly escape. A brawl ensued later in the show, with Orton and Reigns getting physical. Although Reigns turned down Orton, the ball has been rolled ahead of a showdown between the pair.
