Mercedes Moné Hints At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II Appearance
Mercedes Moné has teased a potential AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door II appearance
With All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling announcing that Forbidden Door II will take place in Toronto on June 25, pro-wrestling fans and industry insiders alike have begun speculating on just who will wrestle at the highly anticipated show.
One name on everyone’s lips is that of Mercedes Moné, with the IWGP Women’s Champion having been linked with an AEW appearance ever since her NJPW debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4.
Moné was asked if she’ll be at the show during a panel at Kansas City’s Planet Comicon, saying the following:
"When is it? June, so far, I think I could be open, July might be open but I gotta get that phone call. Gotta get that phone call from unc," teased Moné.
Many believed Moné was set to debut for AEW after Britt Baker and Saraya seemingly teased the former WWE Women’s Champion’s arrival earlier this year, and Baker has since gone on record stating that she hopes Mercedes can make her way to an AEW ring at some point.
