Mercedes Mone's NJPW Return Plans Revealed

Mercedes Moné looks to be heading back to NJPW at some point

Mercedes Moné has been out of action since NJPW STRONG Resurgence in May, an event where the former Sasha Banks suffered an injury and called an audible for Willow Nightingale to defeat her and become the inaugural NJPW STRONG Women's Champion.

The exact nature of Moné's injury has not been revealed but she has been spotted in a walking boot, which the Mandalorian star has since been able to remove.

Moné's return to in-ring action reportedly isn't too far away and when she does come back, the plan is for Moné to challenge Giulia for the NJPW STRONG Women's Championship, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio

"I think the date of her comeback probably isn't so far away. The plan is Giulia & Mercedes for the New Japan Women's Title as soon as possible," Meltzer said.

Giulia defeated Willow Nightingale for the belt originally intended for Mercedes Moné in July at NJPW STRONG Independence Day.

There is also an expectation that Moné will head to All Elite Wrestling when she is cleared for an in-ring return. Moné recently teased that she might attend AEW Full Gear on November 18 since the show is in Los Angeles, California.
