Mercedes Moné Vs. Mayu Iwatani Set For Major STARDOM Show
Mercedes Moné and Miyu Iwatani set to clash in a STARDOM ring
Fresh from a successful title defence over AZM and Hazuki at NJPW Sakura Genesis, IWGP Women’s Champion Mercedes Moné will have to shift her focus to STARDOM All Star Grand Queendom on April 23, with Moné set to put the title on the line against Mayu Iwatani.
Iwatani challenged Moné following her match at Sakura Genesis, with Mercedes delivering a firm slap to Iwatani’s face in response after accepting the challenge.
The match at All Star Grand Queendom will mark Moné’s official in-ring debut for STARDOM, with Moné’s first matches post WWE exit occurring in a NJPW ring.
For Iwatani, this will be her second chance to claim the IWGP Women’s Championship, having lost to KAIRI at NJPW/STARDOM Historic X-Over in the finals for the vacant new title in November 2022. A multi-time champion in STARDOM, Iwatani is also a former Women of Honor Champion in Ring of Honor.
