Mike Chioda Doesn't Think AEW Should Let CM Punk Go

Should AEW keep CM Punk?

While CM Punk's future with All Elite Wrestling is in doubt, a former WWE official believes the company should work to keep him around.

Speaking on his Monday Mailbag podcast, Mike Chioda admitted he wouldn't let Punk go because of the potential for him to sign with WWE.

"I wouldn't let go of CM Punk because from a business point of view, whether they start pinning Punk down the road a year or two from now or whatever they do with him, I think they'll take him away from AEW. That would be a huge draw in ratings on TV for WWE if they get Punk back. Kevin Owens is getting a great contract. There's a lot of guys getting contracts and getting paid. Roman [Reigns] is probably making 8 to 10 million a year. If Punk came in making $5 million a year or whatever it is, I would. I'd put all of my differences aside and say 'Let's do business,'" Chioda said.

CM Punk and AEW are reportedly in talks over a contract buyout. The two-time AEW World Champion was suspended by the promotion following a backstage fight with Ace Steel and The Elite post-All Out, with a third-party investigation having recently come to an end. Most of AEW's top stars are reportedly unwilling to work with Punk if he does return to the promotion.
