MJF, Bryan Danielson Matches Added To AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2024

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024 to feature Bryan Danielson & MJF in action

We are a little over a week away from the third annual AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view, and on the June 19 edition of AEW Dynamite, two matches were officially confirmed for the crossover supershow.

After defeating RUSH in singles action, MJF found out what lies in store for him at Forbidden Door, when The Cage of Agony appeared on the screen to inform the former AEW World Champion that he’ll face CMLL’s Hechicero on the show. Hechicero has made several appearances for AEW and ROH since AEW entered into a working agreement with CMLL, with Hechicero aligned with Brian Cage, Toa Liona, and Bishop Kaun. The match was green-lit by The Young Bucks, and later confirmed by Tony Khan on X/Twitter.

It was also confirmed that a men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament match will take place at Forbidden Door, with Bryan Danielson taking on former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Shingo Takagi in a first-round match. This will be only the second time that Danielson and Shingo will face off in singles competition, with their first encounter coming in a Dragon Gate USA ring in 2010.
