MJF Defeats Kenny Omega, Will Become Longest Reigning AEW World Champion

MJF will become the longest reigning AEW World Champion ever

A huge match took place on AEW Collision last night as the AEW World Champion MJF defended his title against the longest running AEW World Champion of all time, Kenny Omega, in the hopes of defeating the former champion before going on to break his record.

There were some big moments in this match, such as a huge powerbomb through a table on the outside of the ring, MJF using a Panama Sunrise (as a nod to injured friend Adam Cole) and some close nearfalls in the final stages. A Don Callis run-in did make it not-so-clean, but MJF picked up the win regardless.

After the bell, MJF and Omega showed each other respect and raised each other’s hands to go off the air. With this result, MJF is now set to break the all-time record for longest AEW World Champion. Omega currently sits at 346 days as champion, with MJF at 344. With no shows between now and when MJF breaks the record, it is confirmed that he will be heading into the history books.
