Three Title Matches Set For NJPW Lonestar Shootout

NJPW have set up three big title matches for next month

NJPW held their Fighting Spirit Unleashed show last night, and it was a notable event which set a lot up for the upcoming Lonestar Shootout event in Texas next month on November 10, with three big title matches set to take place.

After Eddie Kingston retained his NJPW STRONG Openweight Title against Henare, he was greeted by Satoshi Kojima, who challenged him to a match for the gold. The pair traded some harsh words but closed out the segment with a handshake.

A new champion was crowned at Fighting Spirit Unleashed in the form of Shingo Takagi, defeating Tama Tonga to become the new NEVER Openweight Champion, bringing Tonga’s short reign to an end. It wasn’t long before he was given his first challenger though, as AEW’s Trent Beretta appeared in a video to issue a challenge for the title at Lonestar Shootout.

The third title match scheduled for next month comes in the form of the IWGP Women’s Championship. After winning in tag team action last night, the reigning CMLL Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer called out and challenged Mayu Iwatani for her belt.

Elsewhere, GCW’s Joey Janela set his sights on Toru Yano, setting up a match for Lonestar Shootout.
