More Matches Added To NJPW New Beginning In Sapporo

New matches set for NJPW New Beginning in Sapporo

The NEVER Openweight Championship will be on the line at New Japan Pro-Wrestling New Beginning in Sapporo.

EVIL captured the gold from Tama Tonga at New Beginning in Nagoya and it has now been announced the House of Torture leader will defend the belt against Shota Umino. This comes after Shota Umino defeated House of Torture's Ren Narita on Wednesday at Korakuen Hall. The match has been set for night one of the New Beginning in Sapporo on Friday, February 23.

El Desperado will also be in action on February 23. He will face SHO in a non-title match as Despe refused to put the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship on the line against him. Desperado agreed to the match after House of Torture stole his mask on Wednesday.

Headline matches already announced for New Beginning in Sapporo include Tetsuya Naito vs. SANADA for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, David Finlay vs. Nic Nemeth for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Title, and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Matt Riddle for the NJPW World TV Title.

Kazuchika Okada will also have his final NJPW matches over the two nights. All Elite Wrestling and WWE are currently battling to secure The Rainmaker's signature
