Report: Kazuchika Okada To WWE Not A Done Deal

Kazuchika Okada to WWE is reportedly not a done deal

Amidst speculation of Kazuchika Okada’s future following the shock announcement of his upcoming New Japan Pro-Wrestling exit, reports from Monthly Puroresu suggested that Okada to WWE was a ‘done deal’, but apparently this is far from the case.

Both Fightful Select and The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer deny that any such deal is over the line, with NJPW sources telling Fightful that Okada to WWE ‘is not the situation as they know it - at least as of right now’.

Meltzer adds that those close to Okada are unaware of any such deal taking place, with both outlets stating that no decision has been made publicly, and Okada is seemingly still early in his process of determining where to sign.

WWE sources revealed to Fightful that Okada having agreed a deal would be ‘news to them’ at this stage, whilst sources in AEW still believe themselves to be firmly in the race to land The Rainmaker’s signature.

If Okada to WWE is indeed a done deal then both sides are going to great lengths to keep it under wraps, and whilst Okada in the Royal Rumble would be nigh on impossible as he has NJPW dates to fulfil until late February, then Okada to NXT could be next on the cards.

Again, it must be stated that until we see Okada in a ring then nothing is confirmed, with sources close to Okada, and sources in both WWE and AEW stating that no deals have been reached.
