William Regal Returns To WWE TV On NXT

William Regal made his first appearance on WWE TV since his return to the company on Tuesday night. 

The latest episode of WWE NXT aired from the WWE Performance Center on January 23 and Regal was shown alongside Ava leaving Shawn Michaels' office following a meeting. Regal promptly congratulated Ava on being appointed the new NXT General Manager, making her the youngest GM in WWE history. Regal and Ava then had a short interaction in which he told her to look after NXT as the brand meant the world to him. 

Ava's appointment as GM comes after serving as an unofficial talent liaison in recent weeks. She was previously a part of the Schism until the faction's dissolution. Ava's appointment took place on the same day that her father, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, joined the TKO Board of Directors. 

William Regal was previously the longtime GM of WWE NXT until his release in January 2022. Regal then headed to All Elite Wrestling as the leader of Blackpool Combat Club but he was granted his release to return to WWE at the end of 2022. 

Regal has served as the Vice President of Global Talent Development since his WWE comeback. He was unable to appear on WWE TV due to a condition of his AEW release that prevented him from appearing on-screen in 2023.
