The Motor City Machine Guns have resurfaced online following their WWE releases in April 2026.
The legendary team of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin were part of extensive roster cuts post-WrestleMania XLII, with their release decried by many fans, and industry insiders alike.
Taking to their official YouTube channel, the tandem have released a short film, showing Sabin going through the five stages of grief as Shelley coaches him through it. Whilst it is not explicitly stated that Sabin is grieving the end of their WWE run it is implied, with Shelley later opening a package addressed to them both featuring several pro-wrestling contracts for a host of promotions - many no longer operating. The likes of FMW, CyberFight, WAR (Wrestle and Romance), IWA Mid-South, and others are noted as having ‘sent offers’ before the duo stumble upon a ‘golden’ item at the bottom of the package.
The video then cuts to a long shot of an elated Sabin holding the item aloft - a guitar pedal by Hardway Electronics called ‘Motor City Machine Fuzz’, although naturally, many fans in the comments have interpreted the video as being a hint that the duo could be set to sign with All Elite Wrestling.
