A former TNA Champion reportedly worked backstage at a recent All Elite Wrestling TV taping.
Per a report from Bodyslam.net, former TNA/IMPACT World Champion Sami Callihan has been working backstage with AEW as a producer, with it believed that Callihan worked the July 8 Beach Break edition of Dynamite, as well as the July 11 edition of Collision, the July 15 edition of Dynamite, and the July 16 Collision tapings.
It’s not sure at this time if Callihan has been working in this role on a try-out basis, but it is believed that he has been working without a contract. Should AEW choose to offer him a full-time role remains to be seen.
Callihan is no stranger to the role, having worked backstage in TNA in a similar capacity since Summer 2025 until his shock release in June 2026. Upon his exit from TNA, some suggested he could make his way to AEW, with Callihan close friends with AEW main event star Jon Moxley.
Upon his release from TNA, Callihan stated he ‘went off’ at management, but later reached out to TNA President Carlos Silva to apologise for how he handled the situation.
