Motor City Machine Guns celebrate victory in the ring with raised hands as the referee signals the win.

After weeks of teases and anticipation, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley of the Motor City Machine Guns have made their official WWE debut as a tag team, competing on last night’s October 18 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Earlier in the night, WWE posted a video to social media which featured them signing their contracts and speaking with General Manager Nick Aldis, who announced that they would be participating in one of two triple threat tag team matches on the show. The two winners would go on to next week’s SmackDown to compete for a shot at the WWE Tag Team Titles.

The Motor City Machine Guns did battle with both Los Garza and and A-Town Down Under, emerging victorious, hitting their neckbreaker/splash combo to score the win. They will head on to next week’s show to take on the duo of Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano of DIY in a number one contendership match.

In recent months, reports suggested the pair would be heading to NXT, though these reports were shut down, with it being stated that their debut was always planned for the main roster.
