Update On Bryan Danielson's In-Ring Future Following End Of Full-Time Career
Bryan Danielson will be having scans on his neck
Oct 18, 2024
Following his loss in the WrestleDream 2024 main event to Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson’s full-time career in AEW has come to an end.
In the lead-up to the show, Danielson had revealed that he needed neck surgery, suffering from a litany of injuries in recent times. Whilst he hasn’t retired, there are still question marks regarding his future.
An update has been provided by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter on the condition of Danielson’s neck and the potential future he has as a performer. It is noted that Danielson will have an MRI to see the state of his neck and the damage done, and it will be assessed whether this has worsened since his last scan. There is a hope that he will not require surgery, but if he does, then a return to the ring will all depend on how well a prospective surgery goes.
It was revealed over the last week that Danielson is officially a free agent, not working with a talent’s contract throughout his final few months as the AEW World Champion. The hope is that his in-ring career has not ended altogether, and that he will be back to wrestle sporadically in AEW.
