'Mr. McMahon' Docuseries Aiming To Reveal The True Vince McMahon Says Director
Director of 'Mr. McMahon' wants the docuseries to uncover the real Vince McMahon

Netflix recently announced that a six-part documentary series covering the life, business practices, and legal battles of former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is to air in September 2024, with Mr. McMahon coming to Netflix screens from September 25.
Filmed before and after McMahon’s retirement in 2020, with interview footage filmed before Janel Grant’s abuse and trafficking accusations were levelled at McMahon, series director and executive producer Chris Smith told Variety that the series aims to show the real Vince McMahon:
“The goal behind ‘Mr. McMahon’ was to pull back the curtain and reveal the true Vince McMahon, obscured beneath the persona he presented to the world,” said Smith. “Over the four years of production, the story evolved in truly shocking ways, culminating in some extremely harrowing allegations. The final product is a revealing documentary that we believe offers a rich and nuanced portrait of the man and the complex legacy he left behind.”
The project has been in the works since 2020, with it noted in 2023 that McMahon would have no say over the final product. Some feared the product could be scrapped due to Grant’s lawsuit and Netflix’s deal to air WWE Raw from January 2025, but this is not the case.
